Baroness Elisa: Tapping into the Musical Core A Preview of an America Performance

/24-7PressRelease.com/ - January 21, 2005 - There is a moment each night when Baroness Elisa toys with her audience, when it seems as if she might just invite each audience member to come up on stage and take a chance on the trapeze that she made her famous decades ago as a small girl in Australia.
Instead the Baroness turns around and fires off a searing high B-flat that brings the house down each night.
Whatever the song, Baroness Elisa, the master stylist and compelling storyteller, knows how to tap its core.
From the ferocious "Everybody Says Don't," of Sondheim to "A Quiet Thing," a Kander and Ebb classic, the Baroness captivates her audiences with a range of emotion and humor that makes the ninety minute adventure just fly by.
The tribute to Harold Arlen Centennial birthday is recognized by a wicked rendition of "Come Rain or Come Shine." The Baroness has a gift to make a tune come alive, and to hold an audience in her spell.
The highlight of the evening is the rarely heard and only once recorded (by Broadway's Brent Barrett) "By the Skin of Our Teeth," another Kander and Ebb tune which provides about five shimmering minutes of magic.
The Baroness is backed up by bassist, drummer, and pianist, and eases into a buttery voice where she just lets phrases float in the air. But for all its understatement, there is drama as well. She kicks back a little and doesn't have to push her voice.
Always the consummate artist, Baroness Elisa's singing comes from the heart. American audiences will be enjoying her very soon. Arriving from Australia in February 2005, Baroness Elisa begins rehearsals for her two year U.S. Tour, entitled, Baroness Elisa: Embarrassing Moments. The ninety minute performance goes into rehearsals next month.

Promoter and producer TR Cutler noted that tickets for Baroness Elisa's show go on sale in February; the show description is now available at http://baronesselisa.com/HomePage/TheShow/theshow.html.
