/Performing Arts PR News/ - April 25, 2008 - Announcing the birth of Yorkshire's freshest new theatre company - The Mooted Theatre Co. The first production is 'A LIFE IN THE THEATRE' by David Mamet, starting in The City Screen, York on May 29th.
Artistic director Mark France says, ""Our objectives are simple. We want to produce theatre that places the audience at the heart of what we do, that is popular and entertaining as well as distinctive and challenging.
Our work will encompass plays both new and old, well known and never performed. "
Mooted aims to produce challenging and entertaining theatre, in which words matter as much as images, and images as much as words.
Mooted kick off in no uncertain style with 'A Life in the Theatre' by celebrated writer David Mamet David Mamet (Speed the Plow, Glengarry Glen Ross, The Untouchables). It starts in The City Screen Basement, York on May 29th and June 3rd starring Bill Laughey and Andy Curry.
Mooted's witty, energetic and stylish production provides a revealing glimpse behind the scenes of theatrical life from a writer who knows what's really going on...
