/Performing Arts PR News/ - NORTH VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA, July 30, 2008 - New actor resource web site for actors looking to break into the Film Industry www.bcactor.com was launched earlier this week. The purpose of the free web site is to educate actors and answer common questions most have when breaking into the business.

"The fact is most actors have no place to turn when they are new to the industry leaving them open for scams and being taken advantage of", says B. Leslie creator of the web site and Film Industry Producer. The web site will grow over time adding new topics each week. For example the web site has topics such as: "The Myths Of Acting In Film", "What Is An Independent Film?", "Why Is No One Hiring Me?", "Should I Work For Free?" or "Should I do Extra Work?". These are just a few topics presently on the site with more to be added over the next few weeks.

Probably the most sought after career in North America is becoming an actor and achieving fame and fortune. Some actors make it but most waste years chasing the dream only to discover they have been mislead by acting teachers, friends and the hype of Hollywood. Actors spend thousands of dollars only to find out that you probably never had a chance in the first place. The most common reasons actors continually fail in this profession is the "denial factor". Actors have a tenancy to listen to people they perceive as having knowledge. The most unreliable information out there, on how to succeed, comes from acting teachers, other actors, "wannabe filmmakers" and people who pass themselves off as industry professionals. The reason for this is because these people only understand the film industry from an artist ( employee ) point of view. They have no real concept of what goes on behind the scenes such as how a movie is financed, what makes a bankable actor bankable, why casting directors make the choices they do, etc. If an actor had this information in the beginning they would be able to make educated decisions relating to their career. This web site is dedicated in taking the mystery out of the film industry for actors.

About The Web Site

www.bcactor.com was created as a free resource for actors throughout North America looking to enter the acting Profession.
