STATEN ISLAND, NY, May 16, 2009 /Performing Arts PR News/ -- The 2nd Annual Staten Island Comedy Festival will take place Monday, June 22nd EUR" Saturday, June 27th with six different comedy shows, at six great Staten Island locations, featuring some of the best local and national headlining comedians. The first two nights of the festival will play host to the EURBig Stage CompetitionEUR where comedians will compete for a spot on EURThe Grand FinaleEUR show at the Music Hall at Snug Harbor on Saturday, June 27th. During the month of April, comedians from across the nation will compete in an online competition on www.SOULJOEL.com. The top ten comedians with the most votes will compete on one of the two first nights of the Staten Island Comedy Festival. Five comedians will compete Monday at the Dugout Pub & Grill (1614 Forest Ave) and the other five will compete Tuesday at The Cellar (304 Manor Rd). One winner from each night will be chosen by three judges (1 talent scout, 1 comedy coach, 1 industry executive) and will share the stage with Last Comic StandingEUR s Gary Gulman on EURThe Grand FinaleEUR.
The Bistro Restaurant (2561 Hylan Blvd), home of Soul Joel ProductionsEUR new monthly comedy show, will be the site for EURHylan HystericsEUR on Wednesday, June 24th at 9pm. ThursdayEUR s show will be an EURImprov NightEUR at The Cup (388 Van Duzer St) featuring some of the Staten IslandEUR s favorite improvisational comedy groups.
The comedy festival will travel across the island to the newest, classiest, and state-of-the-art comedy venue at LorenzoEUR s Restaurant, Bar & Grill at the Hilton Garden Inn. Co-headliners for this eveningEUR s show of EURCabaret ComedyEUR will include Last Comic StandingEUR s Joe DeVito and Sirius RadioEUR s Pete Dominick.
Then comes EURThe Grand FinaleEUR on Saturday, June 27th at 9pm at the 680-seat Music Hall at Snug Harbor (1000 Richmond Terrace)! Soul Joel Productions will celebrate the finale of this weeklong event with national headliner, Last Comic StandingEUR s Gary Gulman featuring the two EURBig Stage CompetitionEUR winners and your host, Staten IslandEUR s Best Stand Up Comic SOUL JOEL.
