New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera to Hold Open House Auditions for the Verismo Opera Chorus & Call for Extras for TOSCA

The New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera is holding open house auditions for the Verismo Opera Chorus and a call for extras for its October 16, 2011 production of TOSCA.

    FORT LEE, NJ, August 28, 2011 /Performing Arts PR News/ -- The New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera (Verismo Opera) invites the public to learn more about North Jersey's only grand opera company, audition for the Verismo Opera Chorus and sign up for extra roles for the upcoming full production of Giacomo Puccini's TOSCA to be held at BergenPAC in Englewood, New Jersey on October 16, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. The company will hold two open houses on August 31 at 7:00 p.m. and September 10 at 1:00 p.m. at Bergen Family Center located at 44 Armory Street in Englewood.

Hear renowned Verismo Opera Music Director/Principal Conductor Anthony Morss, Chorus Director Mara Waldman, and Stage Director Evelyn La Quaif describe the opera company's mission, vision, and the new production, TOSCA. Light refreshments will be served.

Adults, teens, and children are invited to attend and learn more about the exciting opportunities available to sing in the Verismo Opera Chorus and/or to play extras and act in various roles in the company. The New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera, a nonprofit organization based in Fort Lee, New Jersey, has been a part of the state's music scene since 1989. Under Artistic Director and former Metropolitan Opera star Lucine Amara, the opera company provides performing opportunities for young musicians and artists. Verismo Opera sponsors an annual vocal competition held in November with finals conducted in Carnegie Hall's Weill Hall, drawing artists from all over the United States, Canada, and Europe.
