Zombies, Evil Dead characters, singing, dancing -- this show has it all. Egads! Theatre Company is reviving the 2010 smash hit and the most popular show in their 20 year history, 'Evil Dead: The Musical' -- just in time for the Halloween season!
KANSAS CITY, MO, September 11, 2011 /Performing Arts PR News/ -- It's back -- Egads! Theatre Company has resurrected the 2010 hit just in time for the 2011 Halloween season! Evil Dead: The Musical is an all-singing, all-dancing, gory extravaganza! You don't have to like zombies, horror movies or even musicals to love this show - you only need to like having a "bloody good time"! Combining all of the cult favorite moments of Sam Raimi's classic horror film series, this hard-rocking musical comedy follows five friends to an old abandoned cabin in the woods where they unwittingly unleash an ancient evil force hell-bent on converting them to Candarian demon zombies. That is, until Ash Williams (an unassuming S-Mart employee) wields a sawed-off shotgun and chainsaw to become a demon killing hero! Evil Dead: The Musical also features a "Splatter Zone" for people who want to truly engage in the real 3-D experience. Join us! For mature audiences only.
Evil Dead: The Musical is directed once again by camp and kitsch aficionado Steven Eubank. The original cast from the 2010 Egads! production features Chioma Anyanwu as Cheryl; Ethan Miller as Ed/Moose; Dana Joel Nicholson as Jake; Aurelie Roque as Linda; Noah Whitmore as Scott; Samn Wright as Ash. Katie Karel joins the cast as Shelly/Annie with Ashley Otis understudying all of the female roles. Kevin Bogan is Music Director, Derek Ferguson is Choreographer, Ashley Otis is Associate Choreographer, Ashley Pike is Stage Manager. Sets designed by Alex Perry, Jeff Eubank and Ryan Riggs; costumes by Courtney Perry; props by Jon "Piggy" Cupit and Marlin Deen; lights by Alex Perry; and sound by David Kiehl.
Evil Dead: The Musical previews at 8 pm on Monday 10/03, Wednesday 10/05 & Thursday 10/06 and officially opens at 8 pm on Friday 10/07. A complimentary reception will immediately follow the opening night performance. Other performances include: 8 pm on Fridays & Saturdays (10/07 through 11/04); 8pm on Mondays & Thursdays; 7 pm on Sunday 10/23 & 10/30. The closing performance will be at 11:30 pm on Saturday 11/04. All performances will take place at the Off Center Theatre -- Crown Center 3rd level, 2450 Grand Blvd, Kansas City, MO.
Tickets are just $20 for center seats & Splatter Zone and $15 for side seats. Student Rush is $12.50 at every performance with valid student ID.
