Tenor Bryce Westervelt Releases Debut Recording

Singer Releases New Recording of Franz Schubert's 'Die schöne Müllerin'

HOLIDAY, FL, February 03, 2012 /Performing Arts PR News/ -- American tenor Bryce Westervelt and noted pianist R. Timothy McReynolds announce the release of a new recording of Franz Schubert's masterpiece Die schöne Müllerin. Westervelt's recording debut comprises the highly lauded twenty-song cycle.

Produced by Westervelt and McReynolds, along with Antonino d'Urzo of Opusrite, the CD was recorded in the Elsie and Marvin Dekelboum Concert Hall in the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at the University of Maryland in 2010.

The independent release was made possible through a Kickstarter.com funding campaign undertaken in early 2010. Utilizing the innovative micro-funding website, the artists raised over $7,500 toward their project from more than 150 project backers.

The newly released German Lieder collection is independently distributed by CDBaby.com and is available at a number of online retailers, including Amazon.com and iTunes.com.

Bryce Westervelt is sought after as a soloist with opera companies, orchestras, and choral groups across the nation. His concert repertoire spans over 50 major works from Bach to Britten, and he has been a featured artist with several leading ensembles over the last decade.

Enjoying a career that embraces art song, opera, chamber music, and cabaret, pianist R. Timothy McReynolds is also active as a teacher and vocal coach. He has collaborated with the likes of Delores Ziegler and the late William Warfield.

Die schöne Müllerin is considered by many to be one of Franz Schubert's most important works. The song cycle, translated as "the beautiful maiden of the mill," tells the story of a young miller, who sets out on a journey seeking work, falling in love along the way.
